About the Role
~1 min readDorsia is seeking a Payments Engineer to own the entire financial layer of our platform. This spans member dining payments, billing and renewals, dining credits and redemptions, operator reconciliation, and corporate account management for our B2B products. Dorsia Pay, our proprietary frictionless dining product, is the most visible expression of this work, but it is one surface of many.
Qualified individuals have proven experience building payments infrastructure in production and understand the full lifecycle of a transaction. You have worked with the hospitality or restaurant tech ecosystem and understand firsthand the nuances of POS integration and operations-facing systems.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Own the core payments infrastructure that supports every financial transaction on the Dorsia platform, from member-facing dining payments to billing and corporate accounts.
- Design and maintain payment processing architecture and build integrations with payment processors, acquirers, and card networks.
- Own the membership billing lifecycle including recurring charges, failed payment recovery, and cancellation flows.
- Support corporate and B2B billing surfaces that sit alongside the consumer product.
- Implement and maintain PCI-compliant data handling practices across all payments.
- Own integrations with POS systems and restaurant technology platforms including SevenRooms, Toast, and Square.
- Build robust, fault-tolerant integration layers that account for the operational realities of restaurant systems in production.
- Design operator-side reconciliation and payout flows, as well as integration architecture that scales to new venues and markets smoothly.
- Work with the Finance team on reconciliation, reporting, and the downstream workflows that depend on accurate transaction data.
- Collaborate with the Security Engineering team on fraud controls, access patterns, and the security posture of the financial layer.
- Partner with the Product team to shape how payments experiences evolve across the member app, operator tools, and overall marketplace.
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience with at least 2 years focused on payments systems in production.
- Hands-on experience with payment processors and thorough understanding of authorization, capture, settlement, and reconciliation end-to-end.
- Experience building subscription or membership billing systems, including failure recovery and lifecycle management.
- Prior experience integrating with POS or restaurant technology platforms.
- Working knowledge of PCI-DSS compliance requirements.
- Clear, direct communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across finance, operations, and restaurant operators.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, complex environment involving cross-functional projects.
- A genuine interest in the Dorsia product, the member experience, and what it means to build for hospitality at this level.
What We Offer
~1 min readAt Dorsia, we believe that culture eats strategy. The best ideas in the world mean nothing without the right people around the table and the right chemistry between them. We are, unapologetically, a people-first organization.
We’re creating once-in-a-lifetime experiences for the most discerning audience in the world. That doesn’t happen over Zoom. It happens through collisions: a spark across a desk, a kitchen-side conversation that unlocks a partnership, the energy of ideas felt, not typed. That’s why in-office culture is non-negotiable at Dorsia.
We don’t subscribe to check-the-box hiring. We hire for merit and mindset, which naturally creates a team with varied backgrounds. What unites us isn’t demographics, it’s a shared vision: to build the social operating system for the cultural vanguard.
We’re not a 9-to-5 company. Our lifestyle mirrors our members. Early flights, after-work events, and late-night sprints when the work demands it. But we love what we do, and we definitely love a good party.
Working at Dorsia isn’t for everyone—and that’s the point. Our culture is designed for builders, not passengers. We move fast, set ambitious standards, and expect people to rise to them. If you have the talent and the drive, this will be a ride to remember.
We’re building something special. It will take long hours and relentless effort. It’s not for everyone. For those with the metabolism, you’ll create something that changes how culture is lived. And that’s the kind of work worth your life’s energy.
