Job Summary:
The Quality Engineer will monitor and improve the quality of our operational processes and outputs. The Quality Engineer responsibilities include developing and implementing quality standards and quality control systems.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Implementing quality standards
- Implementing quality control systems
- Monitoring and analyzing quality performance
- Inspecting and testing materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality specifications are met
- Collaborating with operations managers and/or production supervisors to develop and implement controls and improvements
- Ensuring that workflows, processes, and products comply with safety regulations
- Investigating and troubleshooting product or production issues
- Collaborates with department managers to implement corrective actions, solutions, and improvements
- Reviewing codes, specifications, and processes
- Maintain health and safety of plant/operations area
- Lead reviews of critical operational failures, near-misses, or quality defects.
- Apply tools like the 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, or Fault Tree Analysis to find core issues.
- Design and deploy preventive controls to stop problems from happening again.
- Monitor performance metrics, track corrective action statuses, and maintain logs.
- Ability to review technical logs, process maps, and audit data objectively.
- Clear technical writing for incident reports paired with cross-functional presentation skills.
- Author, review, and approve critical quality documents, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and change controls.
- Schedule, conduct, and document internal quality audits to verify process adherence and readiness for external inspections.
- Perform rigorous evaluation and testing of initial supplier product samples to verify technical compliance before full onboarding.
- Issue and track Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs) to resolve vendor-related material or product defects.

Required Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
- ASQ certification preferred
- Project Management certificate in progress or completed is an asset
- Lean six-sigma certificate completed is preferred
Knowledge
- Knowledge of production machinery, processes, and standards highly preferred
- Understanding of technical documentation and industrial sector
- Knowledge in Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA), DFMEA, PFMEA and Root Cause Analysis
- Continuous Improvement
- Applied knowledge in 5S and internal audit (i.e., applying ISO)
- Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in the quality department, quality assurance, or a similar role with some exposure to people management experience
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment, automotive preferred
- Experience working in automotive, EV charging and electrical industries is preferred
- Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results
- Organize and report test results
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
- Experience in using measuring equipment (Caliper, Micrometer, High gauge, Profile Projector, etc.).
- Basic understanding of electrical tools (multimeter)
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
- Critical thinking, problem-solving and creativity skills
- Excellent project management skills
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to work in groups as well as independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Ability to suggest improvements to procedures and methodologies
- Ability to provide clear and concise technical documentation
- Multi-tasking
- Working under tight timelines
- Fast-paced, changing environment
- Primarily sitting and working at a computer
- Autonomy and flexibility
- Regular business hours
- Occasional evenings and weekends as necessary
- Able to travel a minimum of 10% of the time to the USA upon employment commencement
