A Day in the Life of a Senior Project Manager

As a Senior Project Manager, you'll start your day by reviewing your active projects, priorities, schedules, budgets, and overall performance to ensure work is progressing safely, accurately, and on target. You'll oversee large or high-priority projects, keeping a close eye on scope, quality, timelines, and financial performance. Your goal will be to keep projects moving forward while making sure every detail is handled with the level of quality and accountability our customers and teams expect.

Throughout the day, you'll work closely with Project Supervisors, APMs, PMs, field teams, customers, and internal partners to address challenges and keep projects on track. You'll provide regular coaching and feedback to help team members meet their goals, strengthen their skills, and stay accountable for project performance. You'll also support departmental cross-training, recognize opportunities for development, and stay aware of potential retention risks so you can help build and maintain a strong, engaged team.

Safety will be a priority in everything you do. You'll ensure teams are following safe work practices and First Onsite safety programs, as well as all applicable legislative requirements. When challenges arise, you'll use your project management expertise and leadership skills to make informed decisions that balance safety, quality, schedule, budget, and customer expectations. Every day, your leadership will help deliver successful projects while developing the people and teams responsible for making that success possible.
