Join the Account Management team to grow Flexport’s book of business across Singapore and Malaysia by deepening our existing client relationships. This is a dynamic, collaborative role: you’ll own the long-term relationship for a portfolio of clients, uncover new opportunities in their supply chains, and lead a team of Account Management who do the same.
- Lead the business growth plan related to the book of business in terms of generating sales leads, transforming leads to opportunities and developing solutions for clients.
- Use your advanced knowledge of the client’s business goals, the industry, and Flexport’s services and solutions to proactively close and deliver new solutions that empower the client and deepen the client relationship.
- Serve as the client’s trusted advisor, advocating for their needs with internal stakeholders and finding win-win solutions for the client and for Flexport.
- Use regular client touch points and business reviews to help clients understand the value they are realizing and to capitalize on new opportunities to deepen the relationship and improve client retention.
- Manage and mentor your Account Managers: hold them accountable for performance and growth, coach them through difficult client conversations and cross-functional escalations, and help them identify new opportunities within their accounts.
- Teach the fundamentals of account management, and support each AM’s development with regular feedback and career growth recommendations.
- Work cross-functionally across Supply Chain Operations, Procurement, Account Solutions, Implementation, Industry SMEs, and Trade and Financial Services teams to develop and execute on the client strategy in a deliberate way that maximizes the client’s outcomes.
- Proactively monitor the client’s health to identify opportunities to improve client outcomes and ensure that Flexport meets its business objectives.
- Ensure high product adoption by mastering the Flexport platform and teaching your clients how to get the most out of their Flexport experience.
- Bachelor/master degree
- At least 5 years of experience in sales, account management and supply chain operations roles, preferably in managerial or team lead level positions.
- A background in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain (highly preferred)
- An entrepreneurial mindset with a strong track record of successfully delivering innovation and driving results
- Experience working with complicated global team matrices and drive desirable solutions and results, and experience working with retail, electronics and tech verticals.
- Experience building client relationships globally and leveraging those relationships to grow the business partnership
- Passionate about achieving team success; able to inspire and motivate the team.
- Strategic thinker and disciplined planner; able to operationalize strategic plans; well organized.
- Excellent presenter and communicator on all channels (written, verbal, phone, media)
- Exceptional negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable adapting your style to flexport cultures.
- Willingness to keep learning and curiosity
- Highly collaborative; track record of building strong internal and external relationships.
- High integrity and ethics; style and behavior align with Flexport’s values
- Experience in electronics, retail, or tech verticals is an advantage
- Experience with AI adoption is a plus
