Requirements

- PCBA Schematic Capture and Layout (Altium)
- Hardware Bring‑Up, Debug, and Validation
- Power, Signal Integrity, EMI/EMC Fundamentals, Sensor Integration
- DFM / DFT
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Due to the type of work at the facility and certain access restrictions, successful applicants must be a “US Person” (US Citizens, US Nationals, lawful permanent residents, asylees or refugees)
- Full‑time, exempt position
- Office and laboratory environment with occasional field or test‑site work
- Limited travel for testing, vendor engagement, or program support
- Power regulation and distribution
- Battery management systems
- MCU‑based designs (Atmel, Microchip, STMicro)
- CPLD, FPGA design experience a plus (Lattice, Diamond IDE, Xilinx CoolRunner or equal)
- Hardware interfaces (RS‑232/485, I²C, CAN)
- Industrial communication protocol experience a plus (TCP IP, Ethernet IP, Modbus or equal)
- PLC interface experience via Modbus a plus
- Motor control and feedback interfaces
- RF layout, antennas, and wireless systems (Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi, Iridium, Argos/Kenesis – experience a plus)
- Analog hardware design experience (AtoD conversion, sampling rates, anti-aliasing)
- Digital hardware design and sensor integration (proximity, load cells, Xrays, Acoustic Sensor or equal)
- Altium Designer
- Git, SVN
- Eclipse, PyCharm, Arduino IDE, Code Composer Studio
- Lab instrumentation (scope, logic, spectrum, network analyzers)
- C, C#, Python, Visual Basic
- VHDL, Verilog
- Typically 5-10+ years of relevant experience
- Designed and owned complex PCBAs from concept through production
- Led board bring‑up, debug, and validation
- Interface experience with multiple digital and analog sensors
- Developed and architected DSP, CPLD and FPGA projects a plus
- Integrate software components into a fully functional embedded inspection system a plus
- Supported technical decisions related to power, signal integrity, EMI, and reliability
- Participated in design reviews and mentored junior engineers
- Supported manufacturing ramp up and sustainment
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field (M.S. a plus)
