Project Manager (Vanadium / Petcoke Processing / CFB) LATAM

GateSource HR is seeking an experience Project Manager , with experience in petcoke pocessing to lead a technically complex high-temperature processing and recovery operation. This role focuses on the extraction and refining of vanadium from industrial feedstocks through advanced roasting, emissions control, and hydrometallurgical recovery systems. The successful candidate will bring strong operational leadership in thermal processing environments, strict regulatory compliance, and the delivery of high-efficiency recovery performance. Key Responsibilities Lead the execution and operational management of a vanadium recovery project based on petcoke or similar industrial feedstock processing. Oversee high-temperature roasting operations, including Circulating Fluidized Bed (CFB) systems. Ensure full compliance and performance of SO₂ capture, gas treatment, and emissions control infrastructure. Direct hydrometallurgical recovery circuits, including leaching, purification, precipitation, and refining processes. Manage waste-heat recovery systems to improve energy efficiency and reduce operational costs. Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across operations, metallurgy, engineering, maintenance, and environmental compliance. Ensure the plant operates under strict environmental, regulatory, and permitting oversight. Drive continuous improvement in recovery yields, throughput, and environmental performance. Act as the senior technical and operational interface with regulators, consultants, and project stakeholders. Requirements Candidates must demonstrate all of the following: Direct experience managing high-temperature roasting operations, including CFB-based processing systems. Proven expertise in full SO₂ capture, gas scrubbing, and industrial emissions control. Strong operational background in hydrometallurgical recovery and refining of vanadium or similar critical metals. Demonstrated experience implementing and optimizing waste-heat recovery and energy efficiency systems. Track record of operating under strict environmental compliance frameworks and regulatory oversight. Senior-level leadership experience in complex industrial metallurgical processing environments.
