The Mechanical Design Engineer will play a pivotal role in designing, analyzing, and optimizing the products within the gas power portfolio. This role involves working across various stages of the product lifecycle, from initial design to field issue resolution. The engineer will ensure technical excellence, safety, and performance of mechanical components through advanced analysis, innovative design, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

→Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include mechanical and/or electrical engineering for all products
→Developing conceptual knowledge of professional discipline. May include support roles with specialized expertise or technical knowledge in broad area.
→Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience. Understands how work of own team contributes to the area.
→Resolves issues using established procedures. Consults supervisor or more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
→Collaborates with others to solve issues. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Exchanges technical information, asks questions and checks for understanding.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master's of Science Degree in Engineering or a STEM major (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) from an accredited university or college.
0-1 years of previous intern / co-op experience.

Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
Strong focus on safety, quality, execution, and process rigor.
Open-minded, self-motivated, and empowered to challenge thinking to dream big and smart risks.
Demonstrated capability in collaborating within a team and customers to create an inclusive environment.
Ability to rapidly shift priorities based on business needs.
Strong organizational skills, communicating with transparency to deliver project milestones
Capable of breaking down complex problems and executing to solution.
Familiar with AI and possess a continuous improvement (Lean) mindset.
Familiarity with ANSYS, NX, Python, VBA, and other analytical tools.
Passion for innovative mechanical and aero-thermal design.
Capable of breaking down complex problems and executing to solution.
