Our US East Design & Delivery Organization (DDO) is growing and looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the team in Syracuse, NY or Buffalo, NY! In this role, you will work on a variety of electrical power generation, distribution and utilization system projects for a variety of projects across the US including water & wastewater treatment facilities. In this role, you will be responsible for the creation of detailed design of electrical power, instrumentation, and control systems, preparation of electrical, instrumentation, and control equipment procurement specifications and preparation of electrical, instrumentation, and controls construction documents.

- Client & Customer Management (External): Manage relationships with small clients while also helping senior colleagues manage relationships with larger key clients and customers.
- Community of Practice Management: Participate actively in a community of practice in a defined area of expertise or consulting to build own expertise.
- Engineering Solutions Design: Design engineering solutions and the associated validation process to enable the realization of a design brief (for example, in terms of functionality, performance, aesthetics, and cost) that conform to organizational and/or regulatory standards.
- Engineering Standards Specification: Contribute to the analysis of information, the drafting of engineering standards and specifications, and the evaluation of the effectiveness of those standards within own engineering discipline to inform engineering work in the organization and/or of its suppliers, contractors, and consultants.
- Health, Safety, and Environment: Follow the organization's health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the well-being of self and others in the workplace. Identify patterns of risky behavior within the team and take appropriate action to resolve them, escalating serious issues as appropriate.
- Improvement/Innovation: Identify shortcomings and suggest improvements to existing processes, systems, and procedures, then deliver a plan for a small element of a change management program with guidance from a project/program manager.
- Personal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an in-depth understanding of technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
- Project Management: Deliver small- or medium-scale projects while working within an established program management plan.
- Request for Bid Solicitation/Proposal/Tender Response: Gather information and resources, draft and complete proposals, and fulfill all process requirements (in terms of deadlines, documentation, etc.) in response to bid solicitations, request for proposal, and request for tender to create the best chance of being awarded the contract.
- Technical Developments Recommendation: Discuss and recommend technical developments to improve the quality of the used technology, such as systems, processes, infrastructure, installations and machines.
- Bachelor’s and/or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or ability to obtain it
- 5-10 years of experience in the design of electrical power generation, distribution and utilization systems including high voltage main and secondary substations, power distribution equipment, protective relaying and metering, electrical power generating equipment and systems, UPS and power conditioning systems, lightning and surge protection systems, motors and motor controls, indoor/outdoor lighting systems, electrical heat tracing, wiring methods and/or grounding systems
- Experience in planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring engineering projects.
- Experience working on water and wastewater projects is beneficial but not required.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit (beneficial but not required)
- Solid understanding of NFPA 70 (NEC) and other electrical industry codes, standards and recommended practices is preferred
- Familiarity with ETAP, SKM or other computer-assisted power study programs, and an interest or experience in performing short-circuit & protective relaying analysis and power studies is a plus
- Experience working with AGi32 lighting design software
- A basic understanding of instrumentation and control systems

Salary Range: $94,000-$156,000 based on experience and location.
