Due to a significant major rail project win and an ongoing strong workload, we are seeking an accomplished Senior Mechanical Engineer – HVAC to join our well-respected team in Melbourne. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of complex infrastructure and building services projects.

Working alongside industry-leading professionals, you will play a key role in delivering innovative and sustainable mechanical engineering solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects, including transport, healthcare, education, defence, data centres, commercial, infrastructure and public sector developments.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer - HVAC, you’ll contribute technical expertise to the delivery of our building services projects. You’ll be confident managing complex and critical technical matters, using sound judgement and a collaborative approach to deliver high-quality outcomes.

This diverse and exciting role will see you working on:

  • Delivering high-quality mechanical building services designs, with a focus on HVAC systems.

  • Designing and reviewing HVAC solutions to ensure quality, compliance and fit-for-purpose outcomes.

  • Coordinating mechanical design with multidisciplinary teams across Electrical, Hydraulic, Fire, Structural, Civil and specialist disciplines.

  • Building strong client relationships and contributing to technical reports, assessments, proposals and project opportunities.

  • Managing mechanical design activities from concept through to construction and commissioning, with a focus on quality, risk, budgets and timeframes.

  • Mentoring less experienced engineers and sharing technical knowledge to build capability across the team.

  • Championing sustainable and innovative engineering solutions that create long-term value for clients and communities.

What would you bring to the team?

  • A tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering, with relevant experience in HVAC building services, ideally within a consulting environment.

  • Chartered Professional Engineer status with Engineers Australia and RPEV registration, or eligibility to obtain these.

  • Strong technical expertise in HVAC and mechanical building services design, with proven experience delivering projects from design through to completion.

  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams and coordinating with clients, contractors, sub-consultants and other engineering disciplines.

  • Sound knowledge of relevant Australian building regulations, standards, codes and compliance requirements.

  • Strong client and stakeholder communication skills, with commercial and risk awareness and the ability to contribute to proposals and project delivery.

  • A collaborative, solutions-focused approach, with the ability to mentor and support less experienced engineers.

Working as part of an integrated alliance with our construction partners, you’ll collaborate with professionals from several alliance teams in a co-located North Melbourne team. This collaborative environment provides a unique opportunity to work alongside industry leaders in delivering complex, high-profile infrastructure.
