GRISWOLD INDUSTRIES Job Description Planner/Scheduler (Production Control)   JOB DIMENSIONS:   Job Summary:   Under general supervision, monitors and reports the status of sales orders, releases sales order kit lists, reviews work orders, and purchase orders for possible sales order improvements.  Coordinates and expedites the flow of material, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with the production and shipping schedules and performs other related duties, as assigned.   Reports to:   Production Control Manager   Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:   Processes pick list following the Customer Pick List Procedure; Processes transfer orders pick list following the Transfer Order Pick List Procedure; Reviews & processes emails as they come in during the day; Processes emergency rush orders following the Emergency Rush Order Procedure; Checks high visibility customer orders; Processes change orders following the Change Order Procedure; Processes order verifications following the Order Verification Procedure; Processes transfer orders following the Transfer Orders Procedure; Checks new orders for projected dates which are over 30 days out; Processes ECOs; Reviews and processes BOM errors as needed; Reviews scrap parts for replacement; Regular punctuality, attendance, and absence reporting in conformance with company policies is essential to the successful performance of this position; and Fully comply with company rules, policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to ensure safe and effective operations.   QUALIFICATIONS GUIDELINES: Any combination equivalent of but not limited to the following:   Experience/Training/Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management preferred, or equivalent experience, and minimum of three years’ experience in production control methods, scheduling and manufacturing processes required. Experience with and a demonstrable knowledge ERP/MRP system(s); and Proven experience in a planning role.   Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of production management and material control system applications and software programs; Knowledge of expediting methods and techniques; Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with staff and various departmental representatives; Ability to monitor and coordinate assignment of assigned sales orders to meet production and delivery schedules; Computer literate; Knowledge of inventory control practices; Fluent in Microsoft Office suite; Demonstrable excellent interpersonal communication skills; Strong organization and problem-solving skills; Must be a strong team player; and Must be detailed-oriented.    Physical Requirements: Ability to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, filing cabinets, photocopiers and other office equipment, as applicable;  Most work tasks are performed indoors where temperature is moderate and controlled by office environment systems; Ability to work (sit and/or stand) at a desk for majority of the work day; walking and/or standing may be required for the remainder of the work day.  Length of time performing these physical requirements may vary from day to day and task to task; Requires grasping, writing, sitting, standing, walking, repetitive motions, pulling, pushing, listening and hearing ability, and visual acuity; Ability to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 15 lbs; and Ability to perform essential functions of the job, as defined; Reasonable accommodations provided upon request.   Special Requirements:  None.
