  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued DoD Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Experience with design/development/implementation in at least one of the following areas: Anti-Tamper (HW, SW, Systems), Cybersecurity, Software Assurance
  • Minimum 6 years of progressive technical (hands-on) experience related to Systems/Software Engineering architecture, requirements, determination, development, and implementation
  • Experience designing, implementing, testing, and fielding real-time Embedded security-oriented solutions on Department of Defense (DoD) programs.
  • Advanced Degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or related fields
  • Experience in developing Anti-Tamper, Cyber Security, and/or Program Protection requirements, architectures and plans
  • Familiarity with software, firmware, microelectronics engineering, cryptography and FPGA design
  • Expertise in attack threat modeling and Critical Program Information (CPI) assessments
  • Cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, GSLC or CEH in accordance with DoDD 8570/8140
  • Working knowledge of DoD directives such as DODI-S-5230.28
  • Experience in aircraft/weapons system integration

Raytheon is seeking a Principal Systems Security Engineer (SSE) - P4 to join the SSE Sensors, Space, & Air department. The team member will apply their technical knowledge and expertise in the fields of Anti-Tamper and embedded Cybersecurity to ensure secure products are delivered to the end-user. The SSE will be responsible for individual and team leadership contributions to execute program deliverables and milestones, including communications and briefings with internal stakeholders, leadership, and external customers. The candidate will follow the Raytheon Systems Engineering processes to develop, design, integrate, test, and evaluate security solutions within embedded systems. Must be able to work independently and be a motivated self-starter. The individual must possess and maintain an active DoD Secret security clearance and work in classified areas. This is an onsite position at Raytheon in Goleta, CA.


Responsibilities

  • →Perform Critical Program Information (CPI) analysis
  • →Perform SSE requirements generation, derivation, decomposition, and analysis
  • →Perform and document SSE trade-studies and provide path forward recommendations
  • →Generate systems engineering modeling and artifacts, including functional block, sequence, and activity diagrams
  • →Develop the program Anti-Tamper Plan
  • →Develop and execute Verification and Validation (V&V) Plans and Procedures
  • →Present in internal and external customer reviews and program milestones
  • →Report tasking status and communications with program and functional leadership
  • →Travel up to 25% as necessary
  • →Raytheon Anti-Tamper Learning program
  • →Raytheon Cybersecurity Bootcamp
