Typically requires a Bachelor of Science in Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or other technical field of study, and five (5) years of Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related industry experience
Manufacturing process experience in one of the following: (assembly, fabrication, inspection, test)
Previous experience working in cross-functional problem-solving and continuous improvement teams
Previous experience handling and reviewing/inspecting production hardware
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Powerpoint), capable of analyzing and manipulating raw data to generate graphs, charts and/or Pivot tables that effectively communicate production health to relevant stakeholders
Experience in identifying root cause and initiating/implementing effective short-term and long-term corrective actions
Experience in development/usage of Quality metrics that may be used to drive true root cause and long-term corrective action, and in the identification/institution of perceptive verifications.

Responsibilities

→Baseline factory metrics (Scrap, Rework, First Pass Yield, etc.), identify top drivers, forecast future demand for top drivers and identify areas of opportunity for improvement.
→Engage cross-functional manufacturing Defect Prevention Team (DPT) to ensure alignment on top priorities (using baseline data and future forecast) to drive containment, Root Cause Analysis and associated Corrective Action Implementation.
→Perform process walks, operator observations, and lead MFG team discussions to drive process enhancements to reduce variation and Cost of Poor Quality.
→Lead/Drive Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) initiatives (PFMEA, control Plans, SPC, etc.) using baseline metrics and future demand.
→Identify production and/or supplier escapes, ensure proper containment and communication to MFG, Program and Supplier Quality teams as required to ensure RCCA
→Perform verification and validation of improvements to understand effectiveness.

This position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
