Supplier Quality - Special Process Engineer

• Executing processor qualification / certification, assessment, monitoring, escape management, and quality issue resolution processes
• Reviewing and making recommendations on quality data and contributes to the development of part / supplier specific quality issue resolution and corrective actions
• Providing research on and explanations of root cause analysis & problem solving (Red-X & 8D) in escape management procedures. Making recommendations for the development of corrective and / or preventive actions
• Executing processes and procedures for supplier qualification / certification, and Correction Action Boards / DQ Clinics with suppliers.
• Ensuring that the quality of RTX suppliers, products and processes are compliant with internal and regulatory standards and are continuously improving
• Coordinating requests for corrective actions, audits, and waivers for special process suppliers. Performing Escape management procedures, drives root cause analysis & problem solving and recommends corrective and preventive action for systemic supplier non-conforming processes
• Supporting the RTX supplier programs to ensure healthy continuous improvement and sustainability
• Analyzing quality data to identify systemic issues and develops supplier specific quality strategies; addressing them with key proactive quality tools (e.g. PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, SPC, etc.), as well as driving their implementation.
• Working autonomously with limited supervision
• Influencing others within the work area through explanation of facts, policies and practices
• Working as an individual contributor to set and achieve objectives of own area of responsibility
• Influencing supplier qualification / certification, assessment, monitoring, escape management, and quality issue resolution processes with knowledge and explanations of Supplier Quality & Compliance practices and procedures
• Adapting and using multiples forms of interaction styles to convince and / or persuade people / stakeholders to follow ideas and proposals
• Using flexible and adaptable working styles to build and develop effective cross-functional teamwork.

• Strong background in Special Processes (Heat Treatment, Shot Peening, Grinding, Plating, Anodizing, NDT, Coatings, Composites, Electronics)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to speak effectively and easily with both internal and external executives and employees
• Ability to adapt and use multiples forms of interaction styles to influence stakeholders to follow ideas and proposals
• Ability to use flexible and adaptable working styles to build and develop effective cross-functional teamwork
• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy/ Chemistry engineering or similar field
• Equivalent work experience may be considered instead of education
• 5+ years professional experience in a Manufacturing Engineering/Special Processes, Quality
• Knowledge of Quality Regulations, Practical Problem Solving,  QMS – Quality Management Systems, Auditing/Assessing, Risk Management / Continuous Improvement
• Experience in the manufacturing area
• Working knowledge of AS9100 and Nadcap
• Knowledge of Nadcap special processes
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed. (up to 40%)

• Knowledge of Quality Regulations, Quality Core Tools Knowledge, Practical Problem Solving, International Mgmt. system standards, Authorities / Regulations / Standards, Knowledge of QMS, Auditing/Assessing, Risk Management / Continuous Improvement (Lean Six Sigma) desirable
