Parts Specialist (Lansing, MI)

• →Source, evaluate and procure heavy truck and equipment parts, components and materials 

• →Assist mechanics in identifying and ordering the correct parts to support timely repairs and maintenance 

• →Maintain accurate inventory records and inventory management systems 

• →Conduct cycle counts and monitor inventory levels to ensure parts availability 

• →Organize and maintain a clean, efficient and well-labeled parts department 

• →Verify receipts against purchase orders and resolve discrepancies 

• →Investigate supplier issues, backorders and alternative sourcing options 

• →Process warranty claims, core returns and parts returns within required timelines 

• →Utilize technical manuals, digital tools and product documentation to identify replacement parts 

• →Analyze inventory trends, supplier performance and return data to recommend cost-saving improvements 

• →Serve as a resource for inventory questions, looking up parts and shop communication 

• →Respond professionally to maintenance-related inquiries 

• →Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and reduce downtime 

• →Provide training, coaching or mentoring related to parts and inventory processes as needed 

Primary location: Lansing, MI 
Regular schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. (30-minute lunch) 
Position type: Full-time, non-exempt 
Reports to: Maintenance manager 

This position is designated safety-sensitive. The associate will operate a vehicle or other equipment on behalf of Granger Waste Services as an essential function of their job and must comply with all applicable safety and drug and alcohol policies.
