Mission:
GroqCloud is where AI native companies and enterprises come for fast, cost efficient inference at scale, and demand has outgrown what a small team can carry alone. As a Member of GTM Staff, you sit at the intersection of our customers, our engineering team, and the business. You are the first technical and commercial voice a prospective customer hears from Groq, and you stay with that customer through evaluation, agreement, and renewal.
You join the Americas enterprise team and work side by side with the Director, Americas and our field engineering team. Early on, you learn how we qualify, size, and price inference capacity. Within your first few months, you run those conversations on your own. From there, the role grows with you into larger dedicated deployments and the next generation of Groq infrastructure.
You bring enough technical depth to understand a customer's workload and work credibly with engineers, and enough commercial judgment to guide a customer to the right answer, including when that answer is not Groq. It is also an operator's role. Much of the work is keeping deals, renewals, and cross functional partners moving, and building the systems and automation that let a small team serve a large market.
Responsibilities & opportunities in this role:
- Be the front door for enterprise demand. Own inbound interest in GroqCloud from first contact through qualification, and make sure every prospective customer gets a thoughtful, timely response.
- Understand what customers are building. Lead workload and requirements conversations, learn the shape of each customer's inference needs, and translate them into the right Groq solution.
- Shape and close commercial agreements. Turn requirements into capacity proposals and order forms, guide customers through the commercial process, and bring deals across the line with support from the Director.
- Own the renewal motion. Build a disciplined renewal practice that keeps existing customers on current terms, expands the right accounts, and transitions the rest cleanly.
- Keep deals moving across the company. Coordinate with legal, finance, sales operations, and engineering so agreements progress on time and everyone knows where things stand.
- Build the systems that let us scale. Extend the automation and workflows already in place, and design new ones, so a small team can serve a large and growing market.
- Make the process better. Spot gaps in how we sell, renew, and bill, and bring forward solutions rather than problems.
- Grow with the business. As you ramp, take on larger dedicated capacity deployments and emerging Groq infrastructure opportunities as a technical and commercial contributor.
Ideal candidates have/are:
- 5 to 8 years in a customer facing technical role. Forward deployed engineering, solutions engineering, technical consulting, or technical account management, ideally at an AI, ML, or cloud infrastructure company.
- Hands on familiarity with LLM inference. You can talk credibly about models, throughput, latency, tokens per minute, and the tradeoffs between dedicated, reserved, and shared capacity, or you have the technical foundation to get there fast.
- Consultative by default. You diagnose before you prescribe, and you are comfortable telling a prospect we are not the right fit.
- Commercially fluent. You understand pricing, order forms, renewals, and enterprise contract mechanics, or you have worked closely enough with sales to pick them up quickly.
- Extremely organized and process oriented. You keep a clean pipeline, you close loops, and you do not need to be reminded to follow up.
- Entrepreneurial and self directed. You identify gaps and fix them. You come to your manager with a proposed answer, not just a problem.
- Able to adapt how you communicate. From an infrastructure engineer debugging a workload to a CFO signing a seven figure order form.
- Comfortable operating in the gray. The playbook is still being written. You adapt quickly to new workflows and environments, pivot when the situation calls for it, and keep moving without waiting for perfect information.
- Nice to have: Experience at a neocloud, inference provider, GPU cloud, or AI lab. Experience with Salesforce or deal desk tooling. A track record of building or improving GTM processes.
