Job Title: HandyTube Safety Specialist-Part Time

Description: 

HandyTube is seeking a part time Safety Specialist responsible for training, administration, programs, and policies. The successful candidate will be skilled in presenting, communication, task management with a desire to grow in knowledge and understanding of environmental, health and safety. Strong collaboration with all HandyTube associates and management will be critical to meeting business goals. This position will report to EHS manager. 

Responsibilities: 

• Provide Site Training including Powered Industrial Truck (PITs), Aerial Lift, Crane, PMI Gun, Confined Space Entry, New Hire, S.I.P.’n on Safety, Respirator, additional topics as needed.  
• Administration ensures filing, training and documentation is organized and kept current. Coordinate reoccurring training and safety program events to completion.  
• Support the development and implementation of environmental, health and safety programs and policies.  
• Participate in audits, Kaizen events, NMR team, Safety Committee, Incident Investigation, Risk Assessments and participate in EHS related meetings.   
• Ensure workplace safety standards comply with state and federal regulations while maintaining the effectiveness of keeping everyone safe from danger. 
• Respond to emergencies such as workplace accidents or injuries. 
• Maintain positive relationship with Associates and partner with other departments.  

Requirements: 

• HS Diploma or GED, Safety Certifications preferred. Exposure to learning management systems desired. 

• 1-2 years experience 
• Environmental, Health and Safety knowledge (OSHA) 
• Attention to detail to identify errors in safety compliance and manage multiple tasks.  
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to conduct training, programs, and grow safety culture on site.  
• Manage and prioritize tasks in association with federal, state, and local deadlines while balancing site needs.  
• Ability to identify safety issues and correct personnel immediately.  
• Ability to teach peers and subordinates safety skills in a concise manner.  
• Ability to evaluate technical information regarding workplace safety. 
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)  
• Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; and regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.   
• Good close vision and depth perception skills. 
• Positive attitude, good judgment, and excellent time management skills. 
• Strong sense of responsibility and ownership! 

Schedule: 

• Part Time 20 hours 
• Flexible hours to communicate to all shifts including nights and weekends.
