Japanese Speaking Project Manager (in HCMC)

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Japanese Speaking Project Manager to lead and oversee complex projects, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeline, with a strong focus on projects involving Japanese stakeholders or requiring Japanese language proficiency.

What you’ll be doing

• Manage the full project lifecycle from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, control, and closure, adhering to Hitachi's project management methodologies.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope definition, objectives, deliverables, resource allocation, timelines, and risk assessments.
• Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Communicate effectively with all project stakeholders, including senior management, clients, vendors, and team members, both in English and Japanese.
• Identify, track, and manage project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
• Monitor project progress, track budget utilization, and report regularly on project status to stakeholders.
• Ensure projects comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and internal policies.
• Facilitate meetings, workshops, and presentations, often involving Japanese business etiquette and cultural nuances.
• Negotiate and manage vendor contracts and relationships, particularly with Japanese partners.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the project management office.
  
  

What you bring to the team

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects.
• Native-level fluency in Japanese (both written and spoken) and professional working proficiency in English.
• Demonstrated experience managing projects with Japanese stakeholders or within a Japanese business environment.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana).
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Cultural awareness and sensitivity, especially regarding Japanese business practices.
• PMP or PRINCE2 certification is highly preferred.
