COMPANY OVERVIEW:

JOB OVERVIEW & REQUIREMENTS:
This position will be responsible for managing commercial activities related to agri commodities, dry bulk, fertilizers (DAP), and other clean bulk cargo. The role supports business development, customer relationship management, revenue optimization, and coordination of cargo handling activities.

  • Designation: Assistant Manager Marketing Commercial - Clean Bulk
  • Location: East-Wharf Port (Keamari Port), Karachi (On-Site)
  • Employment Type: Permanent
  • Experience: Minimum 3-4 years of progressive commercial experience, including business development, sales, marketing, customer relationship management.
  • Education: 16 Years of Education in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Maritime Studies, or related field. MBA preferred.
  • Nature of Experience: Experience with agri commodities, fertilizer, or dry bulk cargo preferred.
  • Area of Expertise: Candidate should hold expertise in handling bulk cargo, ports, terminals, shipping, logistics, commodity-related industries, or other relevant commercial environments with a B2B focus.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business Development & Market Expansion

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in agri bulk, dry bulk, and fertilizer segments.
  • Maintain relationships with importers, traders, commodity houses,
    manufacturers, and shipping lines.
  • Support achievement of volume and revenue targets for assigned
    cargo categories.
  • Monitor market trends, commodity flows, and customer requirements.

Customer & Commercial Management

  • Manage key customer accounts and ensure effective service delivery.
  • Understand customer requirements and provide commercial solutions.
  • Prepare quotations, proposals, and commercial offers as per approved
    guidelines.
  • Support negotiations for handling agreements and business arrangements.

Cross Functional Coordination

  • Coordinate with Operations, Planning, Finance, and Customer Service
    teams for smooth cargo execution.
  • Monitor vessel schedules, cargo movements, storage requirements,
    and customer commitments.
  • Resolve customer issues related to commercial matters.

People Management Responsibilites

  • Ensure effective administration and discipline for self and team,
    including adherence to break schedules, attendance, overtime, leave
    policies, and dress code standards. where applicable.
  • Monitor and manage the achievement of individual and teamPerformance, ensuring accountability and consistent performance
    where applicable.
  • Ensure continuous training and development opportunities for self and
    direct reports; mentor and assist junior staff as needed.
  • Ensure Quality, Occupational Health, Safety & Environmental
    Compliance.
  • Promote & maintain a culture of self and team motivation, engagement, and happiness.

Strategic Responsibilities

  • Maintain cargo pipeline, volume forecasts, and revenue reports.
  • Analyze market developments and provide commercial insights.
  • Support preparation of business plans and performance reviews.
  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Achievement of clean bulk volume and revenue targets.
  • Development of new customers and cargo opportunities.
  • Customer retention and satisfaction.
  • Effective coordination for cargo execution.
  • Accuracy of forecasting and reporting.
