The Welding Engineer provides technical leadership in support of manufacturing operations, with a strong focus on creating and writing welding and brazing processes and procedures within a manufacturing environment. This role supports both day-to-day welding operations and project-based initiatives driven by customer needs.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Analyze process efficiency, troubleshoot welding defects, perform quality control functions, and drive cost savings in daily operations
- →Evaluate, apply, and develop complex welding specifications in compliance with industry standards and customer requirements
- →Develop robust and repeatable joining procedures for high-precision components using welding technologies such as Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), Laser Beam Welding (LBW), and Brazing
- →Develop and maintain weld qualification reports, weld procedure specifications, and work instructions
- →Communicate technical details clearly and provide training to operations teammates and customers as needed
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor's degree in Welding, Metallurgical, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering (ABET accredited program)
- Master's degree in Welding, Metallurgical or Materials Engineering from ABET accredited program is preferred
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in welding engineering or similar metal product processing
- Experience in research and development involving welding technologies and welding metallurgy.
- Strong understanding of stainless-steel welding metallurgy and its applications.
- Hands-on experience in the development and qualification of weld procedures using Electron Beam Welding (EBW), Laser Beam Welding (LBW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), and/or furnace-based processes.
- Demonstrated interest in advancing welding technologies and improving welding processes.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new materials, processes, and manufacturing requirements.
