Hypebeast is a leading global platform for contemporary culture and lifestyle, and a premier destination for editorially-driven news and commerce. The Group has expanded its publishing brands to a wider scope, encompassing Hypebeast and its multiple content distribution platforms, creative agency Hypemaker, and e-commerce and retail platform HBX.
Hypebeast is looking for a Commercial Operations Manager to work directly with the SVP Global Commercial as their operational right hand. Based in Hong Kong, this role supports commercial teams across Asia Pacific, EMEA and North America, keeping the commercial engine running day to day: maintaining data hygiene, preparing reporting, coordinating across regional teams, chasing progress from editorial and cross-functional stakeholders, and finding ways to use AI to make the commercial process faster and smarter.
Our commercial data sits across several systems and teams, so part of this role is helping bring that together into reporting the SVP and regional heads can rely on.
This is a hands-on role with a lot of direct exposure to senior stakeholders. If you like variety, moving quickly, and sitting at the centre of how a global commercial team operates, this is the job.
Own CRM data hygiene across all regions, ensuring campaigns, clients, placements and revenue data are accurate and current.
Prepare recurring reporting for the SVP, including weekly revenue updates, pipeline status and campaign performance summaries.
Work with regional teams and our internal technology team to consolidate commercial data currently spread across systems into a consistent reporting view; specify what is needed, review outputs and keep them accurate.
Prepare materials ahead of SVP calls and meetings: pull relevant data, flag anomalies and summarise key points.
Coordinate with regional sales teams across Hong Kong, Korea, Japan, EMEA and North America on operational follow-ups, scheduling and pipeline updates.
Follow up with editorial teams on content and revenue-related initiatives, including branded content timelines and new format development.
Track progress on cross-functional projects including product launches, training programmes and regional initiatives, coordinating between commercial, editorial, product and other teams to keep work on schedule.
Maintain project trackers covering deliverables, owners, deadlines and status; flag delays and blockers to the SVP before they escalate.
Document and implement commercial approval workflows and decision gates, setting out what is handled regionally and what escalates to the SVP.
Act as the commercial team's point of contact with the People and Finance teams on headcount, compensation and organisational processes, preparing the supporting information needed so cases move quickly and arrive complete.
Create standard operating procedures for campaign and commercial workflows, covering the full process from brief to insertion order to delivery, and map ownership across functions and regions so it is clear who is responsible for what.
Build onboarding playbooks so new commercial hires ramp up without heavy hand-holding.
Identify friction points in how the commercial team operates and propose process improvements to the SVP.
Research, test and implement AI tools for prospecting, proposal generation, client research and CRM automation; build lightweight workflows that save the commercial team time on repetitive tasks.
Train team members on AI tools, track efficiency gains from adoption, and keep the SVP updated on new capabilities worth adopting.
Manage day-to-day commercial administration so nothing falls through the cracks.
2 to 5 years of experience in commercial operations, sales operations, project coordination or a related function.
Experience working in or alongside a sales or commercial team, with a working understanding of pipelines, bookings and revenue.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, chase people and keep things moving.
Data-literate and comfortable with spreadsheets, CRM systems and preparing reports. You do not need to build dashboards, but you should be confident working with data and able to specify clearly what you need from technical teams.
Established habit of using AI tools in your day-to-day work. This is a core requirement for the role.
Confident communicator, comfortable following up with people more senior than you across multiple regions and time zones.
Fluent English essential; Mandarin, Cantonese and/or Korean a strong plus.
Exposure to media, publishing, e-commerce or digital advertising is an advantage but not required.
Previous experience as an executive assistant, chief of staff or project coordinator in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with ad tech concepts including programmatic, direct sold, rate cards and insertion orders.
Experience with CRM platforms, ad servers or similar commercial tools.
Passion for Hypebeast culture.
If you think you’ve got what it takes, please provide your cover letter, CV and expected salary.
