CDL Class A, B, C, or General Class D license may be required depending on vehicle assignment.

About the Role

This is a responsible non-supervisory position. Incumbent performs all duties within guidelines provided by the Program Director and other policies and procedures, such as the Authorized Driver Handbook. Duties include operating and maintaining transportation vehicles with a focus on safety and client courtesy; performing daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; performing minor maintenance tasks on vehicles when necessary; fueling vehicles; ensuring scheduled vehicle maintenance is completed and reported; documenting client usage; preparing trip reports; preparing accident and incident reports as necessary; assisting clients in and out of vehicles as needed; providing safety briefings; and performing other services as requested by management when not engaged in transportation service.

Responsibilities

→Operate assigned vehicles in a safe and courteous manner.

→Maintain defensive driving practices.

→Provide a communication link between clients and staff, and between the program where a client resides and the destination program, including relaying information and delivering paperwork.

→Assist clients in and out of vehicles as necessary and operate ramps, lifts, and securement devices as needed.

→Read and interpret maps, driving directions, and road signs in English to plan efficient travel routes.

→Present safety briefings to passengers prior to each trip departure.

→Keep assigned vehicles clean inside and outside.

→Maintain accurate and up-to-date records including trip sheets, transportation forms, maintenance logs, fuel purchases, incident reports, accident reports, and vehicle condition reports.
