Our leaders shape strategic initiatives, develop passionate teams, and work to improve health outcomes. They advance our mission and exemplify excellence, compassion, teamwork and purpose in all that they doIndiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody these values to join our Quality and Patient Safety team in the role of Infection Preventionist with IU Health Fishers Hospital. This role works onsite, Monday- Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm. 

Minimum Candidate Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience is required.

  • Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience.

  • Prior experience in a Healthcare related field is preferred.

  • Requires Certification in Infection Control (CIC) or Associate-Infection Prevention and Control (a-IPC) certification within 2 years of hire. CIC is preferred.

  • Knowledge of infectious disease, epidemiology, asepsis and immunology, medical procedures, or medical and environmental microbiology is preferred.

 

Core Competencies

  • Conducts targeted infection surveillance activities including investigation and responses to outbreaks of infections among patients and/or personnel. 

  • Recommends and teaches appropriate preventative measures to control infection. 

  • Assures compliance with recommendations from regulatory and accrediting agencies.
