Job Overview
We are seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support site-wide EHS programs, with a primary focus on environmental compliance, EHS data analytics, and waste management. This role will work closely with the EHS team, laboratory personnel, and other site stakeholders to support regulatory compliance, maintain accurate EHS records, analyze performance data, and drive continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of relevant EHS experience, a solid understanding of environmental regulations, familiarity with hazardous waste management, and strong Microsoft Excel skills. This is an excellent opportunity for an EHS professional to expand their knowledge, cross-train across multiple EHS disciplines, and gradually take ownership of projects while collaborating with an experienced team.

Key Responsibilities
1. EHS Data Analytics & Reporting (45%)

Maintain, organize, and analyze EHS data, including incidents, near misses, training, audits, inspections, and environmental performance metrics.
Develop and maintain Excel-based dashboards, pivot tables, charts, and trend analyses to support EHS decision-making.
Prepare routine and ad hoc EHS reports for site leadership and corporate EHS teams.
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across EHS tracking systems.
Support incident investigations and root cause analyses by providing relevant data, trends, and visual reports.
Assist with environmental data entry, tracking, and analysis related to hazardous and non-hazardous waste and wastewater.

2. Environmental Compliance & EHS Programs (30%)
Support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations, including OSHA and EPA requirements.
Assist with hazardous and non-hazardous waste management activities, including documentation, waste profiles, manifests, and vendor coordination.
Work closely with waste management personnel and laboratory teams to answer questions and provide support on environmental compliance matters.
Support wastewater compliance activities, environmental recordkeeping, and applicable permitting requirements.
Assist with air permit documentation, emissions tracking, and recordkeeping as needed.
Maintain EHS procedures, work instructions, forms, and compliance records.
Support EHS inspections and compliance audits, track corrective actions, and maintain documentation.
Research applicable regulations and industry best practices to support ongoing program improvements.

3. EHS Training, Communication & Engagement (15%)
Assist in developing and maintaining EHS training materials, presentations, job aids, and visual communications.
Support onboarding and refresher training in collaboration with the EHS team and other departments.
Track training completion, identify gaps, and prepare training metrics.
Support EHS awareness campaigns, safety observations, 5S initiatives, and site communication activities.
Help identify opportunities for improvement and recommend practical solutions to enhance EHS performance.

4. Continuous Improvement, Projects & Audits (10%)
Participate in EHS improvement initiatives, including 5S, visual management, and compliance improvement projects.
Manage assigned projects independently as experience and familiarity with site operations grow.
Support incident investigations, corrective action tracking, and risk reduction initiatives.
Assist with preparations for internal, corporate, and regulatory audits.
Collaborate with the broader EHS team on special projects, risk assessments, and process improvements.
Take advantage of cross-training opportunities across environmental, health, and safety disciplines.

Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
3–5 years of relevant EHS experience, preferably in a manufacturing, laboratory, industrial, or similar environment.
Familiarity with hazardous waste management programs and applicable environmental regulations.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP or equivalent lookup functions, charts, and basic formulas.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Working knowledge of environmental compliance requirements, including hazardous and non-hazardous waste, wastewater, and general environmental regulations.
