Position Summary Responsible for safe driving of people and goods and ensuring proper maintenance of the vehicle at his level Key Responsibilities Safe transportation of people and goods and support admin errands in the district Drive employees on official business for field activities Collect and deliver mail/orders Assist with the obtaining of quotes and assist in the procurement of supplies Assist with clerical & filing duties for the programme Any other tasks, as assigned by supervisor Vehicle Maintenance Once a week the driver must check the following on the vehicle: Engine Coolant level Fuel gauge functionality and Tyre pressure and condition of tyres Availability of an inflated spare wheel, wheel spanner, lock nut Key, jack and confirm ease of removal Maintain accurate Log Book at all times indicating Trip destination Purpose of trip Time out/time in of vehicle Mileage when vehicle is taken out Mileage when vehicle brought back to premises Record of when vehicle re fueled Record of when vehicle serviced and when it is due for next service Copies of log sheets must be submitted to the Administration on 30th of each month Take reasonable precautions to ensure safety of vehicle at every destination, i.e Check all doors are locked Check gear lock is in place Ensure the alarm is on Ensure spare wheel lock is secure and easy to operate. Must be checked on a weekly basis Requirements Qualifications, Skills and Experience Clean class 4 Drivers license Ordinary levels including English language 5 years driving experience Valid defensive driving certificate First aid training an added advantage Honesty and integrity High levels of self-discipline
