We are seeking a Senior Azure Architect to design and govern enterprise cloud platforms supporting complex energy and industrial operations. You will lead the architecture of secure, scalable Azure environments spanning upstream, midstream, and downstream activities. The role covers enterprise applications, subsurface and seismic data, operational systems, and the integration of IT and operational technology (OT). You will help modernize critical infrastructure while enabling innovation in analytics, artificial intelligence, and digital twins. Working across technical and operational teams, you will address demanding requirements around cybersecurity, resilience, connectivity, and regulatory compliance. This is an opportunity to shape cloud strategy in an asset-intensive environment where reliability, safety, and performance are essential.
You will define and oversee Azure architecture for enterprise and operational environments, ensuring that cloud solutions meet business needs while maintaining security, resilience, and operational continuity. Your responsibilities will include:
-
Design and govern enterprise Azure platforms supporting upstream, midstream, and downstream operations.
-
Develop multi-subscription Azure landing zones and establish architecture standards, governance frameworks, and best practices.
-
Design hybrid connectivity solutions, including Azure ExpressRoute and VPN, to connect cloud environments with enterprise systems and remote operational sites.
-
Lead and support large-scale cloud migrations and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
-
Architect solutions across Azure compute, networking, storage, identity, and security services.
-
Design scalable data platforms capable of handling large volumes of subsurface, seismic, enterprise, and operational data.
-
Establish high availability and disaster recovery architectures for mission-critical systems.
-
Ensure secure integration between IT and OT environments, taking into account operational constraints and industrial cybersecurity requirements.
-
Apply network segmentation and security principles aligned with the Purdue model and relevant IEC 62443 concepts.
-
Balance cloud innovation initiatives, including analytics, AI, and digital twins, with the reliability and safety requirements of industrial operations.
-
Design solutions that account for remote and offshore locations, limited connectivity, strict change-control processes, and demanding availability expectations.
-
Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, engineering, and operations stakeholders to translate business and technical requirements into effective architecture decisions.

-
At least 8 years of hands-on Azure architecture experience.
-
Proven experience delivering enterprise Azure environments, including multi-subscription landing zones, hybrid connectivity, and large-scale migrations.
-
Background in oil and gas, energy, utilities, mining, or another asset-intensive industry.
-
Strong understanding of the differences between IT and OT environments, particularly regarding risk management, change control, and availability requirements.
-
Deep expertise in Azure compute, networking, storage, identity, and security services.
-
Strong Infrastructure as Code capabilities using Terraform and/or Bicep.
-
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
-
Demonstrated ability to design large-scale data platforms and highly available, disaster-resilient architectures for mission-critical systems.
-
Working knowledge of OT security principles, including the Purdue model, network segmentation, and IEC 62443 concepts.
-
Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification (AZ-305) or equivalent practical expertise.
-
Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
-
Ability to work effectively with both IT teams and operational stakeholders.
-
Strong architectural judgment and the ability to balance innovation with security, reliability, and business continuity.
-
Ability to navigate complex technical environments and translate operational constraints into practical cloud solutions.
