We are seeking an experienced Risk Manager to lead insurance, enterprise risk management, and loss mitigation initiatives across a growing portfolio of renewable energy and energy storage assets. In this role, you will develop and oversee comprehensive risk strategies to protect the organization's financial interests, ensure regulatory and contractual compliance, and strengthen long-term portfolio resilience. You will manage insurance programs, broker relationships, claims administration, and financial security instruments across operating and construction-stage projects. Working closely with internal business leaders, lenders, investors, insurers, and external advisors, you will identify emerging risks and develop effective mitigation strategies. You will also leverage financial analysis, risk modeling, and performance reporting to support informed business decisions. This is an opportunity to play a strategic leadership role in a dynamic renewable energy environment while supporting the growth and sustainability of a national infrastructure portfolio.

As Risk Manager, you will oversee the organization's insurance and risk management framework, ensuring appropriate protection for its assets while balancing financial, operational, and commercial priorities.

  • Lead annual insurance renewals and broker negotiations across operating and construction-stage assets.

  • Develop and implement insurance placement strategies to optimize coverage, deductibles, and overall cost of risk.

  • Manage relationships with insurance brokers, carriers, consultants, and third-party advisors.

  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate insurance coverage, including property, casualty, environmental, cyber, directors and officers (D&O), pollution, builders' risk, and other specialized policies.

  • Review insurance policies, coverage terms, exclusions, endorsements, and contractual language to ensure alignment with organizational risk objectives.

  • Benchmark insurance coverage and costs against industry standards and maintain accurate portfolio-level insurance schedules and reporting.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for insurance claims, coordinating submissions, investigations, supporting documentation, and settlement negotiations.

  • Collaborate with operations teams to assess financial losses, maximize insurance recoveries, and implement loss prevention initiatives.

  • Manage surety bond programs and financial assurance requirements across the portfolio.

  • Administer letters of credit, including issuance, renewals, amendments, releases, and collateral management.

  • Evaluate alternative credit support solutions, including insurance-backed letters of credit and surety products.

  • Ensure compliance with insurance obligations under project financing agreements, tax equity arrangements, and credit agreements.

  • Coordinate insurance reporting requirements with lenders and investors while maintaining documentation demonstrating ongoing compliance.

  • Monitor portfolio exposure to weather events, natural catastrophes, operational disruptions, regulatory changes, cyber threats, and market risks.

  • Coordinate catastrophe modeling and insured value assessments to evaluate potential portfolio exposures.

  • Develop risk dashboards, executive reporting metrics, and periodic risk assessments in collaboration with business leaders.

  • Identify emerging risks and recommend practical mitigation strategies to strengthen portfolio performance and resilience.
