Field Technician

K92 Mining Limited operates the Kainantu Gold Mine in the Eastern Highlands Province. Since we launched in 2016, we've grown gold production every year, boosting Papua New Guinea's economy. We take pride in supporting your communities, with nearly 94% of our team members being fellow PNG locals.

This role forms part of the site Mine Geotechnical team and its purpose is to collect and analyze samples of rock, and other earth materials to support the Senior Geotechnical Engineer and work closely with other technicians to provide geotechnical expertise to the MTS, Mining and Projects team in a safe and timely manner.

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Assist in gathering geotechnical data for analysis and studies to assess site condition.
   
• Assist in gathering QAQC information on concrete, underground support and other relevant Geotechnical instrumentation.
• Assist in performing field and environmental investigations for geotechnical Engineers.
• Analyze geotechnical findings, assist Geotechnical Engineers with performing appropriate calculations and prepare data for reports.

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you have a Trade certificate in Electronics and / or IT Communications. you must also have relevant qualifications in Civil engineering, surveying, mechanical engineering or related fields. You must also have

• 3 years' experience in geotechnical fields or related
• strong understanding of analyzing geotechnical findings, calculations and data reporting.
• Working with AutoCAD or equivalent master data system. 
• Strong safety focus and sound knowledge of standard mine operating procedures.
• Food interpersonal skills and ability to communicate information clearly to supervisors and other mining personnel.
