Intern Engineering & Operations

Assist in writing and developing the current control narratives. Functional Description Specifications: Assist in updating the current Functional Description Specifications (FDS) on the farm.
The intern will support the engineering and operations teams by assisting with technical documentation, equipment tagging and process mapping across the farm. The role offers hands-on exposure to how the business operates day to day, working alongside Technical Managers, Engineers, Technicians and the CMMS team. The intern will also be encouraged to review current systems with a fresh perspective and put forward ideas for improvement.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Control Narratives: Assist in writing and developing the current control narratives.
- →Functional Description Specifications: Assist in updating the current Functional Description Specifications (FDS) on the farm.
- →Equipment Tagging & Labelling: Learn the site equipment and assist with tagging and labelling using the existing Tag lists.
- →Systems Review: Review current systems and processes and suggest possible improvements.
- →Business Understanding: Work with Technical Managers to understand and learn how the business functions.
- →Maintenance Process Documentation: Work with the CMMS team to understand and document the process for how a broken piece of equipment is exchanged or repaired.
- →Team Engagement: Engage with the entire team, from Engineers to Technicians, to build working relationships and gain a broad understanding of site operations.
The responsibilities above are not exhaustive. The intern may be asked to provide additional assistance on projects as required, in line with their skills, experience and the needs of the business.
- Practical experience in technical documentation, including control narratives and FDS documents.
- Familiarity with site equipment, tagging standards and maintenance processes.
- Insight into how a CMMS supports maintenance and asset management.
- Exposure to cross-functional teamwork across engineering and operations.
- Currently studying, or recently completed studies, in engineering or a related technical field.
- Good written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn, ask questions and get involved on site.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
The intern is expected to follow all site health and safety procedures, complete any required inductions, and wear appropriate PPE at all times when on site.
