Manufacturing Design Engineer

As part of our continued international growth, we are excited to be opening a brand-new facility in Poland and are seeking a talented Manufacturing Design Engineer to join us during this exciting phase of expansion.

The Role
As a Manufacturing Design Engineer, you will play a key role in designing vacuum chambers, custom fabrications, and precision-machined components for a wide range of customer applications. Supporting projects from concept through to manufacture, you will work closely with Production, Planning, Inspection, and suppliers to deliver high-quality solutions that meet technical, quality, and delivery requirements.

Working within a global engineering team, you will collaborate with colleagues across Europe and worldwide, contributing to innovative projects and helping establish our newest European manufacturing facility in Poland.

Key Job Elements:

• Design and detail mechanical components used in the KJLC product lines while following the established procedures
• Meets with Material Control, Key Shop Personnel, and any other resource as required to discuss and understand the entire scope of the project.
• Responsible for any manufacturing or sub-contracted challenges that arise
• Work to budgets and timelines relative to project tasks
• Create Bills of Material in the corporate ERP system
• Interface with our internal machine shop to determine cost effective manufacture
• Occasional domestic travel is required (Initial training in UK)
• Other Duties as assigned

Qualifications
Required

• Engineering degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering 
• Strong 3D CAD experience
• Working knowledge of GD&T

Preferred

• Experience with Solid Edge or other mid-range modelling package
• Experience of working within a Manufacturing Facility
• Experience of 1-off Custom Design.
• Experience of Scientific Vacuum Industry
• Hands on Experience via CNC machining, fabrication or TIG Welding
