Liquid Personnel is recruiting a Social Worker to join its client’s Community West Team at Trafford Council.

Our client is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their Integrated Community Service within the West Neighbourhood Team, based at Partington. This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that workers are office‑based when completing duty work.

The team works with adults across a wide range of needs, including long‑term conditions, adults at risk, substance misuse, hoarding, dementia, and alcohol‑related issues. This is a busy and rewarding role suited to skilled, experienced, and motivated Social Workers.

A key part of the role involves completing social work assessments and interventions using a strengths‑based and person‑centred approach, securing appropriate levels of funding where required in line with the Reshaping Trafford Policy. You will also be expected to provide an effective response to safeguarding enquiries in accordance with the Care Act and local policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Engage in informative and preventative conversations, completing outcomes‑focused and strengths‑based social work assessments and interventions
  • Manage a caseload effectively, organising your workload to balance individual responsibilities with wider team demands
  • Build effective professional relationships with partner agencies and multidisciplinary colleagues to support a coordinated response to local need
  • Share responsibility for the team’s workload, supporting colleagues through collaborative working and skill‑sharing
  • Participate in the team’s duty rota, responding to urgent and crisis‑led situations
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding adults, supporting and overseeing enquiries in line with the Care Act and local safeguarding procedures

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A recognised professional qualification in Social Work (MA, BA, BSc, DipSW, or CQSW)
  • Registration with Social Work England
  • A minimum of 2 years’ post‑qualified experience as an Adult Social Worker within a statutory setting
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Care Act 2014 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005
  • Excellent assessment, analysis, and decision‑making skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary environment
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
