Senior Fullstack Developer

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Live Payments is seeking a talented and experienced Full-stack Developer to join our growing/ multi-national team. Reporting directly to our Vietnam based Team Leader, the Full-stack Developer will work on developing and maintain our existing and future products.

Core duties include:

Frontend Development

• Develop and implement user interfaces using React.js, Next.js, and modern front-end technologies
• Build responsive, accessible UIs with CSS and Material-UI
• Troubleshoot and resolve end-user issues and optimise automated processes
  

Backend Development

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend APIs using Node.js (NestJS)/Golang
• Build and maintain high-performance, high-throughput services with strict reliability requirements
• Design and maintain scalable microservices capable of handling high transaction volumes
• Ensure idempotency, consistency, and fault tolerance across processing flows
• Implement robust error handling, retry strategies, and reconciliation processes

AI-Augmented Development & Collaboration

• Use agentic AI tools (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) daily to accelerate development, automate code reviews, and improve code quality
• Design effective prompts, workflows, and context strategies to maximise output from AI coding agents
• Identify and implement opportunities to integrate AI agents into development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and operational processes
• Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify project requirements and recommend improvements
• Conduct code reviews with a strong focus on performance, security, and reliability
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including SRS and design documents
• Work closely with DevOps teams to improve observability, monitoring, and alerting

Required skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience

• At least 5 years of proven experience in fullstack development. Advanced proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), Node.js, React.js, Next.js, NestJS, Golang
  
• Strong expertise in designing and integrating RESTful APIs, socket protocols, and backend architecture
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) and transactional data modelling
• Understanding of distributed systems concepts (timeouts, retries, circuit breakers, idempotency)
• Deep understanding of concurrency, asynchronous programming, and multithreading
• Proven experience working with agentic AI development tools (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor Agent, GitHub Copilot) not limited to chat-based AI usage
• Ability to design effective prompts, workflows, and context strategies to maximise output from AI coding agents
• Familiarity with security best practices for backend systems
• Excellent communication skills with a strong command of the English language
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities, self-motivation, and capacity to work both independently and collaboratively
  

Desirable skills:

• Experience working on payment gateways, fintech, or financial systems
• Knowledge of AS2805, ISO 8583, ISO 20022, or equivalent payment message formats
• Knowledge of PCI DSS or payment security standards
• Strong understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Microservices
• Hands-on experience with AWS (Lambda, etc.), GCP, or Azure
• Infrastructure-as-Code experience (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or DynamoDB
• Experience handling peak traffic, failover, and disaster recovery
• Knowledge of rate limiting, throttling, and traffic shaping
• Solid experience with performance profiling and optimisation
