In this role, you will lead field commissioning activities on large-scale semiconductor construction projects, supporting the successful startup, testing, and turnover of critical facility systems. You will work closely with project managers, design professionals, subcontractors, vendors, and client stakeholders to ensure systems are commissioned safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the project management team in planning and coordinating commissioning and startup activities to maintain project schedules.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of system startup requirements, including predecessor and successor activities necessary for successful commissioning.
  • Implement and manage the project QA/QC Program, coordinate QA/QC Specialists, and ensure subcontractors comply with approved QA/QC plans.
  • Perform onsite inspections, including underground utilities and owner-furnished equipment, to verify construction quality and readiness for startup.
  • Review construction documents, specifications, sequences of operation, technical manuals, submittals, and RFIs to support successful project execution.
  • Coordinate commissioning activities with project managers, design teams, subcontractors, vendors, and client stakeholders across multiple disciplines.
  • Lead startup meetings and coordinate construction sequencing to ensure systems are safe, complete, and ready for startup, testing, and turnover.
  • Serve as the primary client-facing point of contact for commissioning activities, communicating project status, risks, technical issues, and commissioning progress.
  • Develop and maintain commissioning plans, schedules, reporting systems, RACI matrices, issue logs, meeting minutes, and turnover documentation.
  • Coordinate Operational Acceptance Testing (OAT), Functional Performance Testing (FPT), Integrated Systems Testing (IST), and system turnover while driving deficiencies and punch list items to resolution.
  • Coordinate with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), testing agencies, and third-party commissioning providers to ensure regulatory and project compliance.
  • Organize owner training and support project closeout activities to ensure a successful system handover.
  • Provide clear verbal, written, and electronic communication with project stakeholders throughout all phases of the project.
  • Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role.
  • Minimum 5 years of commissioning experience on semiconductor, mission-critical, or industrial construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of commissioning methodologies, startup, functional testing, integrated systems testing, and system turnover.
  • Experience coordinating commissioning activities across multiple disciplines, subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, sequences of operation, and technical documentation.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and construction or commissioning management software.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline preferred.
  • Relevant trade qualification or equivalent technical certification will also be considered.
  • OSHA 10 required
  • Proof of education, licenses, and certifications will be required where applicable.
