Job Summary

The Sales Merchandiser Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the performance, productivity, and discipline of Sales Merchandising and Racking teams across customer retail locations. This role ensures merchandising standards, planogram execution, product placement, and inventory visibility are consistently maintained to support sales performance and customer satisfaction.

 

The Sales Supervisor provides direct leadership, coaching, and accountability to Racking team and Lead Sales Merchandisers and their teams, while coordinating field operations and driving performance management, conflict resolution, and continuous improvement across assigned territories.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Supervise Racking team, Lead Sales Merchandisers and Sales Merchandisers across assigned locations.
  2. Monitor attendance, punctuality, grooming, and overall professionalism of all team members.
  3. Provide ongoing coaching, direction, and support to ensure optimal team performance.
  4. Address and document performance concerns and employee relations issues through coaching, counselling, and corrective action in accordance with company policies.
  5. Conduct regular field visits to observe, assess, and guide merchandising teams.
  6. Ensure all merchandising activities are executed to company standards, including:
  • Planogram compliance
  • Product rotation (FIFO)
  • Shelf cleanliness and organization
  • Accurate pricing and labelling
  • Removal of expired or damaged goods
  1. Conduct regular audits to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance across all assigned stores.
  2. Ensure merchandising teams maintain visually appealing, well-stocked, and customer-ready displays.
  3. Monitor inventory levels and promptly escalate out-of-stock or overstock concerns.
  4. Direct merchandising teams to resolve stock gaps, placement issues, and execution challenges.
  5. Coordinate with warehouse, drivers, and merchandising teams to ensure smooth delivery and stocking processes.
  6. Ensure all documentation (invoices, credit notes, and reports) is completed accurately and submitted on time.
  7. Review and validate weekly reports submitted by Lead Sales Merchandisers, resolving issues as they arise.
  8. Submit weekly updates report to Consumer Sales & Service Manager ensuring all key information is properly and timely communicated.
  9. Maintain strong working relationships with customer retail stores and represent the company professionally.
  10. Address store concerns related to merchandising, deliveries, or product availability in a timely manner.
  11. Keep abreast of competitor activity, product trends, and promotional opportunities within assigned territories.
  12. Assist with deliveries or merchandising when key team members are unavailable.
  13. Ensure Lead Merchandisers and Sales Driver are keeping company vehicles clean.
  14. Drive responsibly and in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Bahamas Road Traffic Department.
  15. Perform any other duties assigned by management.


Organizational Relationships          

This position reports to the Consumer Sales & Service Manager. He/she liaises regularly with employees such as merchandisers, Sales Representatives, Brand Managers and warehouse personnel.



Requirements - Education and Experience

  • At least five (5) years of experience in merchandising, retail operations, or field sales.
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience required.
  • Valid Bahamian driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment and machinery, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
  • Experience operating heavy-duty vehicles such as flatbed trucks and box trucks.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong understanding of merchandising principles and retail execution.
  • Ability to manage multiple locations and teams simultaneously.
  • Strong conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.

 

Physical and Emotional Demands

He/she must have the physical ability and emotional intelligence to perform the essential functions and responsibilities of the job which may include but not limited to bending, lifting and carrying loads up to 40 pounds. This is a demanding position that requires a flexible schedule and dealing with difficult personalities and conflicts while maintaining a consistently professional and calm demeanor.
