Warehouse Delivery Driver

Job Summary

The Driver is responsible to assist the dispatch supervisor in ensuring the highest level of productivity and efficiency by safely delivering orders to achieve customer service goals.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Signs for and transports customer orders within a reasonable time as determined by the dispatch supervisor.
2. Delivers signed copies of invoices to accounts receivable along with any customer payments, and signs delivery sheet/payment book as applicable.
3. Reports customer queries to Warehouse Clerk.
4. Delivers customer returns and signed Merchandise Return forms to the Warehouse Clerk for credit processing.
5. Keeps delivery van clean and in good working condition, and reports all abnormalities immediately to supervisor.
6. Executes any other duty assigned by management.

Organizational Relationships          

This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor (Dispatch) and indirectly to the Operations Manager. He/she interacts regularly with accounts, sales and warehouse staff.

Requirements - Education and Experience 

The Driver must be over 25 years old, have a high school diploma or general education certificate with at least three years’ driving experience. He/she must be courteous and have reasonable communication skills.

Physical and Emotional Demands

He/she must have the physical ability and emotional intelligence to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job, which may include but not limited to bending, lifting and carrying loads up to 40 pounds. This is a position that requires dealing with difficult personalities and conflicts while maintaining a consistently professional and calm demeanor.
