Description

Are you an experienced Backend TypeScript Developer looking for your next big challenge? Join our Cloud crew and become a vital part of the team building the Public API for our core product – MapTiler Platform.

In this role, you’ll work closely on our critical cloud systems to ensure high performance, stability, and scalability. You will have a direct impact on a system that makes map integration seamless and highly reliable for developers and major companies worldwide.

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and scale high-performance APIs for MapTiler Platform.
• Focus heavily on backend code quality, long-term system stability, and reliability.
• Focus on Node.js and Cloudflare Workers performance without Next.js or high-level web
  frameworks.
• Optimize cloud infrastructure and serverless components for maximum performance.
• Backfill critical system capacities and ensure the resilience of our architecture.
• Write clean, well-documented code and comprehensive unit tests.

What we expect from you

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern backend development.
• Deep knowledge of both Node.js and web worker / serverless environments.
• Practical experience with network architectures and designing scalable backend systems.
• Good knowledge of modern web technologies.
• 5+ years of experience in backend software development.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• A team player who collaborates on a common outcome.
• Professional working proficiency in Czech and English.

Nice to have

• Experience with Docker and containerization.
• Experience with Cloudflare services.
• Experience with benchmarking and performance testing.
• Involving AI across the various phases of software development.
• Based in or near Brno (for optional face-to-face collaboration in our office).
• A passion for maps and an interest in GIS.
