Who You Are

This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, physically capable, and committed to supporting the day-to-day operations of MCFN facilities.

 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain the cleanliness, sanitation, and general appearance of the Blue Shop (Trades Centre), the Finance Trailer, and the C&C Chambers Trailer.
  • Perform routine custodial duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and waste removal.
  • Clean and disinfect offices, common areas, washrooms, meeting rooms, and other designated spaces.
  • Restock washroom and kitchen supplies as required.
  • Safely operate custodial equipment and cleaning supplies.
  • Report maintenance, safety, or repair concerns to the supervisor.
  • Assist with facility set-up and general housekeeping activities as required.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience as a custodian, janitor, or in a similar cleaning or maintenance role.
  • Knowledge of industrial cleaning equipment and proper operation.
  • Understanding of safe handling and disposal of cleaning chemicals and hazardous materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and conscientious work habits.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • High school diploma preferred but not required.

Other Requirements

  • Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check as a condition of employment.
  • Willingness to submit to and comply with an Oath of Confidentiality.
  • Commitment to following workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Reliability, professionalism, and consistent attendance.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work is performed across three facilities: the Blue Shop (Trades Centre), the Finance Trailer, and the C&C Chambers Trailer.
  • Work is performed across multiple facilities, including office areas, shop spaces, trailers, and council chambers.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, odors, and custodial equipment.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and repetitive movement required.
  • Work may involve handling waste materials and maintaining sanitation standards.



MCFN Standard Closing Statement

In accordance with MCFN hiring practices, this position will be posted internally for a minimum of fourteen (14) days to provide qualified MCFN Members and internal candidates with the opportunity to apply. The MCFN Member priority period will end on October 21, 2026. Following the conclusion of the priority period, the posting will remain open until filled, and external candidates may be considered. Final candidates for this position will be required to complete security screening, which includes a criminal record check and/or Vulnerable Sector Check.
