Mercury Systems is seeking a recent college graduate to join our Rotational Engineering Program, a dynamic opportunity to develop cutting–edge technology that supports the American Warfighter. As a Software System Test REP Engineer, you'll join a collaborative Software Test Automation team focused on automating the software and firmware tests for mission-critical aerospace and defense applications. This role offers hands-on experience with hardware, firmware and software products and a holistic view of the system.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts
  • Perform functional, regression, and performance testing on hardware and firmware/software/systems
  • Document test results, defects, and anomalies in tracking systems
  • Support automation testing efforts and script development
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate test case development and automation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, development, and qualification
  • Analyze test data and prepare reports on findings
  • Maintain and calibrate test equipment as needed
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in testing processes

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related technical field obtained between May 2026 and June 2027
  • A minimum GPA of 3.1. You will be asked to submit your transcripts during the review process
  • Prior Co-Op or internship experience
  • Coursework or project experience in software testing methodologies
  • Familiarity with programming languages (Python, C#, Bash, Java, or similar languages)
  • Experience with AI development tools (e.g., Claude Code, OpenCode, VScode, or similar)
  • Foundational understanding of electronics, embedded systems, and board‑level hardware
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, datasheets, and engineering requirements
  • Experience using standard lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, signal generators)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with test automation and scripting
  • Knowledge of version control systems and software collaboration tools such as GitLab, BitBucket, Jenkins, Docker
  • Understanding of product development lifecycles
  • Experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators)
  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Previous internship or co-op experience in engineering
  • Exposure to data analysis or data logging using Excel, SQL, or similar
  • Experience presenting technical information to technical and non-technical stakeholders
