Prep Cooks are responsible for preparing food and ingredients to be cooked in kettles.

Prepare and maintain efficient setup of the prep room

Understand kitchen needs for the day

Initiate and ensure all batches are accurate and signed off

Weigh prepped ingredients as needed

Open boxed ingredients and decant into pans

Ensure that equipment is returned to the dish room in an efficient manner

Understand and operate stick blenders in a safe manner

Inspect equipment after cleaning and before use to ensure that they are clean

Adhere to strict safety, quality, and production standards including food sanitation (GMP) guidelines

Be a team player, including the ability to communicate well with others

Basic reading comprehension

Basic math, weight, and measurement skills (pounds, ounces, etc.)

Prep cook experience

Regularly required to use hands to feel, grab, or operate objects, tools, and controls while reaching with hands and arms

Frequently required to stand, communicate, and listen

Occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel or crouch

Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Visual perception to perform job including peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Able to perform repetitive movements

Able to work in variable temperatures (cold/hot)
