Robotics HW Engineer
Quick Summary
Experience with GMPc,
Today, these therapies are produced through manual, labor-intensive processes. Costs are extremely high—often $500K–$2M per patient—limiting access to only a small fraction of those who need them.
As product complexity increases and the cost of failure and scientific labor rises, the industry is shifting toward automation. Robotics and AI are making automated biologics manufacturing feasible, reliable, and economically scalable.
We believe the future of biomanufacturing is robotic—closed, automated, and scalable—ensuring critical therapeutics are accessible to every patient who needs them.
We don’t just build robots—we’re building the essential infrastructure for next generation biologics. Our technology enables biopharma companies to scale production without redesigning their science, reducing regulatory hurdles and lowering costs so these treatments can reach more patients.
As a Robotics HW Engineer in the Multiply Labs team, you will apply your engineering expertise and hands-on technical skills to design complex automated machinery involved in the manufacturing of novel pharmaceutical products.
The primary focus of this position is to design HW and controls solutions to biological process automation problems that have not been previously solved for robotic interactions and operation. These types of problems commonly involve the mechanical design of space-efficient and cleanable structures, integrated thermal management, fluid transfer methods, precision alignment and retention, development of reusable robotic gripping features, development of novel robot EOATs, integration of commercial components into custom assemblies, process variable sensing, motion controls, and a sense of aesthetics and proportion to make the design look amazing.
You’ll be working in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment where you are encouraged to be creative and hands-on. Regular tasks include CAD work, prototype fabrication and assembly, testing the performance of your designs, evaluating commercial component options, and participation in team activities such as design reviews and brainstorming sessions. As your designs progress, you will be expected to provide technical support and documentation to assist with design transfer to manufacturing.
