Employment Type: Fixed Term Contract

Initial Contract Term: through December 31, 2026 (renewable)

Expected work schedule: 8 hours/day, 5 days/week

Work arrangement: Remote

Nex is seeking a Localization Project Manager based in Europe to support its game and cross-functional localization programs across European markets. This role will provide dedicated project management support to Localization Program Manager and, over time, independently manage a defined set of localization projects from intake through delivery. Text translation, graphic localization, voice-over localization, and LQA will be performed by an external localization vendor; this role is responsible for managing that vendor rather than executing the localization work directly.

The ideal contractor has hands-on localization project management experience, strong communication and tracking skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple localization workflows across games, marketing assets, vendors, linguists, and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the external localization vendor responsible for text translation, graphic localization, voice-over localization, and LQA, including tracking progress, coordinating handoffs, maintaining schedules, and following up on open items.
  • Assist Localization Program Manager with localization project planning, execution, and status reporting.
  • Gradually take ownership of approximately 10 to 20 localization projects end-to-end under Nex’s localization structure and process.
  • Manage localization requests from teams across Nex—including Marketing, Packaging, PlayOS, and other functions—including intake, prioritization, scheduling, stakeholder communication, handoffs, and delivery tracking.
  • Maintain clear and up-to-date project documentation in Notion and other agreed systems.
  • Track project schedules, risks, dependencies, deliverables, and outstanding action items.
  • Serve as the primary operational contact between internal teams and the external localization vendor, coordinating requirements, deliverables, reviews, feedback, and issue resolution.
  • Work closely with the vendor to improve localization quality by setting quality expectations, reviewing feedback and LQA findings, identifying recurring issues, and driving corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Prepare weekly status reports summarizing progress, risks, blockers, and next steps.
  • Maintain a localization request log and timesheet for approved hours.
  • Escalate timeline, quality, scope, or dependency risks in a timely manner.
  • Weekly localization status report
  • Project schedule tracking
  • Risk and blocker list
  • Cross-functional localization request log
  • Approved timesheet
  • Other project tracking documents as reasonably requested
  • Experience managing localization projects, ideally for games, entertainment, software, or digital products.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with localization workflows, including text translation, graphic localization, voice-over localization, review, LQA, handoffs, and delivery management.
  • Experience managing localization vendors, including schedules, deliverables, quality expectations, feedback, and escalations.
  • Ability to work independently while keeping stakeholders informed.
  • Comfortable using Notion, Slack, spreadsheets, and localization platforms or project management tools.
  • Detail-oriented approach to schedules, deliverables, file tracking, and stakeholder follow-up.
  • Fluency in English plus German, French, Spanish, or Italian is preferred.
  • Candidates should be based in Germany, France, Spain, or Italy and be familiar with European localization workflows and market requirements.

This role will report to and coordinate primarily with Localization Program Manager, who will provide overall localization direction, priorities, and process guidance. The hiring manager will be based in Japan.
