Package Application Engineer

The Application Engineer is responsible for enabling packing method design to meet Functional Requirement Specifications (FRS) and manufacturing excellence of Nexperia product development projects. Graduated candidates or less experience on packing method design will be considered as well; on job training and professional skill development at assisting mentor of packing design experts will be offered to sustain customer ease of handling product packing methods in accordance with EIA or/and IEC Standards.

• →Develop packing method of new product creation project complying with Nexperia release requirements and quality aspects of customer applications in a timely manner.
• →Identify technical risks and provide mitigation proposals at the appropriate stage using proper design tools such as Design FMEA and Fitting Simulation Analysis.
• →Drive sound and effective control methodology of project management if applicable.
• →Own material design change control of carrier tape, cover tape, PQ/SPQ label, inner box...MBB etc.
• →Ensure packing material is effectively implemented throughout the entire development life cycle.
• →Work with supplier quality and procurement to assess technology capabilities of suppliers.
• →Perform expert/consultant and support engineering team to assess and validate continue improvement opportunities of customer’s change request/compliant.
  
  

• →Degree in Engineering disciplines or Materials Science. A Master’s degree or higher is preferred.
• →Teamwork commitment with stakeholders of different packaging manufacturing function organizations at his/her career/expert development    
• →Logical mindset to look for facts/data judgement for technical/project blocking issues.
• →1 or 2 years relevant experience at IC/Discrete development project; familiarizing product data management system of Nexperia is an advantage.
• →Good command of written and spoken English. Proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage.
• →Experiences with design tools such as CAD, SolidWorks…etc are advantages but not mandatory. 
• →Willingness to travel occasionally. (2-3x a quarter)
