Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal / Sr. Principal Configuration Management Engineer to join our F35 software configuration management team. This position is located onsite in Redondo Beach, CA. The person selected for this important position will take a lead role in the update and management of the F35 software development procedures documentation, be responsible for preparing configuration management (CM) artifacts for F35 software deliveries, and leading and mentoring the other CM team members.

Responsibilities

→Participate in the management, update, and maintenance of all related F35 software development procedures and configuration management documentation to help ensure that all customer requirements are fulfilled.
→Review contracts to determine documentation requirements for all phases of the software development lifecycle.
→Prepare CM delivery artifacts and aid the CM and development teams to ensure timely F35 software deliveries.
→Author and maintain workflows in Jira and help determine how these workflows can be implemented in GitLab.
→Prepare for occasional CM audits.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline and 1 years of related engineering experience.
Prior professional experience managing, updating, and maintaining software configuration management documentation.
Prior professional experience authoring and maintaining workflows for software CM procedures in Jira.
Working knowledge of Git, including experience with a Git remote such as Bitbucket or GitLab.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.

Primary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
