In this role, the candidate would be responsible for the oversight and execution of the following NH&S scope of work:

1. Design Support for the C&L BU. This encompasses a team that supports requirement decomposition and derivation, trade support, and hardness design analysis. This position will facilitate cross-segment integration by ensuring the system design is hardened to the applicable hostile nuclear environments (radiation, electromagnetic, and mechanical).

2. Derivation of the induced hostile nuclear and non-nuclear weapon environment definitions for the weapon system. This will include the radiation, electromagnetic and mechanical free field and induced requirements for all equipment within the C&L and AVE Segments.

The NH&S C&L Design Support Manager will have the responsibility for delegation of tasks, overseeing the quality of developed artifacts, and leading a team of engineers. The role works closely with program leadership, the technical leaders, and functional subject matter experts within the NH&S Team. This position is a combination of program management and functional (personnel) management.

Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:

• Lead a diverse team of 10-15 engineers/physicists to execute technical scope while complying with the program schedule and budget.

• Coordinate Nuclear Hardness and Survivability (NH&S) analysis for facility, infrastructure, and command and control systems.

• Review data deliverables from other teams and subcontractors to include test plans, test reports, verification methodology, and design analysis reports for hardening components against requirements on hostile environments.

• Communicate effectively and report regular status to Program Managers, IPT Management, and the government customer.

• Develop and support consistent execution of standard practices, best practices, methods, software and tools across programs.

• Implement lessons learned and continuous improvement plans.

• Lead projects and plans to improve technology, strategic capability, overall design, analysis and production capacity.

• Provide functional management to a team of NH&S engineers. This includes career development (program and functional goals), mentorship, and performance accountability and merit adjustments for direct reports.

• Manage and forecast engineering resources in collaboration with engineering management and technical leaders.
