Job Description
Builds and repairs machine shop tools using machining operations and measuring instruments. Works from blueprints and sketches to create or modify tools, dies, jigs and molds. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
Responsibilities

- →Services and repairs notching, single hit and progressive dies
- →Services tooling throughout plant
- →Exercise good housekeeping in work area
- →Observe good safety practices
- →Performs other job duties as assigned by Supervisor or Team Leader
- Read micrometer, venires, indicators, and have a working knowledge of trigonometry
- Understand simple and complex drawings and interpret geometric tolerances
- Experience with manual and CNC lathes, mills, grinders, MIG & TIG welding.
- Proficient in Imperial and Metric measurements
- Ability to work from engineering sketches and/or examples to fabricate tooling and fixturing
High School Diploma / GED Required
Trade/Technical School Preferred
Minimum 3 – 5 years hands on experience as a machinist
