Full-Time Bilingual Nanny / Family Assistant (San Francisco, CA)

Compensation: $40–$45/hour, negotiable based on experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30am–10:30am and 3:30pm–8:00pm (split shift); occasional date nights and weekend events
Guaranteed Hours: 37.5 hours per week

A private family in Pacific Heights is looking for a warm, energetic, bilingual Full-Time Nanny/Family Assistant to become a long-term part of their household. The role centers on two girls, ages 7 and 5. Mornings and evenings are spent on the girls' routines, and the time in between goes to keeping the household organized and running smoothly.

The family lives in a three-story home with stairs and has a 12-year-old cavapoo. A housekeeper/house manager works in the home during the day, so the nanny needs to be comfortable working alongside other household staff. The family wants someone kind, loving, and creative who enjoys playing with children, teaching them new skills, and sharing interests like drawing, crafting, games, and imaginative play. Initiative matters most to them. A task list will be provided, but the right candidate sees what needs to be done and does it without being asked.

The family spends mid-June through the end of August in Newport Beach, CA, as well as school breaks and holidays. A private casita is available there, and hours are much shorter because the girls attend day camps. Willingness to travel for summers and longer breaks is a strong plus. Flexibility for a few later evenings a month, occasional weekend events, and Saturday evenings is also a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare breakfast, handle morning hair care (braiding is a big plus), and get the girls ready for the day
• Pack nutritious lunches Monday–Friday and make sure each child has proper outerwear, water bottles, and snacks for afternoon activities
• Tidy the kitchen, load and empty the dishwasher, and make coffee
• Start laundry, organize bedrooms, and coordinate with the housekeeper, who arrives at 9:00am
• Prep fruit and vegetables for afternoon and evening meals
• Run errands and pick up groceries
• Handle school and activity pickups and drop-offs, arriving on time with the correct attire for each extracurricular
• Lead active, age-appropriate play, games, and arts and crafts, including drawing, pretend play, fort building, and sewing
• Take outings to the local library and support math worksheets or simple science projects when appropriate
• Speak Spanish or Persian/Farsi with the girls throughout the day to support bilingual language development
• Cook dinner, supervise mealtimes, and clean up after meals (strong cooking skills or the ability to follow recipes is a huge plus)
• Manage evening routines, including baths, teeth brushing and flossing, and bedtime prep
• Wash, dry, fold, and put away the children's and parents' laundry on a regular basis
• Tidy toys and play areas, reset the home for the morning, put away all dishes, and set the coffee maker before leaving

Requirements:

• Fluency in Spanish or Persian/Farsi (required)
• Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation (required)
• Extensive experience driving in San Francisco, including parallel parking on hills and navigating city traffic (required)
• Solid experience caring for children ages 5–12
• Background in early childhood development preferred, not required
• High energy for active, creative, hands-on time with children
• Strong multitasking skills and comfort balancing childcare with household responsibilities
• Proactive, resourceful mindset with excellent communication skills and complete dependability
• Comfortable in a multi-story home and around a small senior dog
• Comfortable working alongside other household staff
• Flexibility for occasional evenings and weekends; willingness to travel to Newport Beach for summers and school breaks strongly preferred
