Full Stack Developer (AU Client - Remote)

You will be required to assist in the development and maintenance of our internal platform, supporting both frontend and backend functionality. The platform supports client onboarding, service delivery workflows, procurement tracking, financial integrations, and identity management across Microsoft technologies.

Managing the development of modular application components, including building React-based interfaces, developing Node.js/Express backend services, designing relational database solutions, implementing secure authentication, and integrating APIs across internal and external systems.

This will require you to build structured features based on predefined API contracts, maintain secure and reliable data flow between modules, write production-quality TypeScript code, and collaborate with the development team to deliver scalable, maintainable, and production-ready solutions.

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Build modular React-based interfaces using modern TypeScript practices.
• Develop and maintain backend services and REST APIs using Node.js and Express.
• Write, review, and maintain clean, production-quality TypeScript code across the full stack.
• Implement APIs based on structured contracts such as OpenAPI.
• Design database schemas, write efficient SQL queries, and optimise relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Implement secure authentication and authorization using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), JWT token validation, and ideally Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and MSAL.
• Integrate external services including Microsoft 365 platforms, financial systems, and other third-party APIs.
• Maintain reliable and secure data flow between application modules and services.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues across frontend, backend, database, and cloud environments.
• Contribute to improving application security by identifying and resolving production security risks.
• Support application deployment and maintenance within Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms where applicable.
• Participate in technical stand-ups, code reviews, and collaborative development activities.
• Clearly communicate technical solutions, implementation decisions, and code findings to the development team, including presenting technical walkthroughs when required.
• Assist in maintaining clean, structured, scalable, and secure application architecture.

• 3+ years of recent hands-on experience in full stack development, actively building applications using TypeScript, Node.js/Express, and React.
• Strong experience with React for frontend development.
• Strong experience with Node.js and Express for backend API development.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimisation, and writing SQL beyond ORM usage.
• Experience working with REST APIs and API contract-based development such as OpenAPI.
• Strong understanding of authentication and identity concepts, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), JWT token validation, and preferably Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and MSAL.
• Ability to confidently explain authentication flows, including how tokens are obtained, validated, and secured within APIs.
• Experience deploying or supporting applications in Microsoft Azure. Experience with AWS or GCP is also highly regarded.
• Demonstrated experience identifying and resolving security issues in production environments and applying secure development best practices.
• Experience integrating systems within the Microsoft ecosystem is advantageous.
• Exposure to financial system integrations or automation environments is beneficial.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly explain code, technical decisions, and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Candidates should be comfortable completing a recorded technical walkthrough (Loom) as part of the recruitment process.
• Ability to work independently and manage development tasks effectively.
