Select, measure, and cut timber, veneers, and other materials accurately. Construct and assemble cabinets, furniture, doors, windows, frames, and other joinery items. Use woodworking machinery, power tools, and hand tools to shape and finish timber. Install joinery products on-site, ensuring precise fit and alignment. Apply finishes such as varnish, paint, lacquer, or stain to wood surfaces. Repair or restore damaged wooden furniture or fixtures. Ensure all work meets safety, quality, and design standards. Maintain tools, machines, and workshop cleanliness. Collaborate with designers, architects, builders, and clients to meet project specifications. Skills & Competencies Proficiency with woodworking machinery, hand tools, and finishing equipment. Strong technical and mathematical skills for measurements and calculations. Excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail. Ability to work from plans, drawings, and 3D designs. Knowledge of wood types, veneers, laminates, and other materials. Understanding of joinery techniques (e.g., dovetail, mortise and tenon). Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Familiarity with workplace safety procedures and manual handling. Qualifications & Experience Trade qualification or apprenticeship in Joinery, Cabinet Making, or Carpentry. Proven experience in a workshop or on-site joinery/cabinet-making role. Knowledge of CNC machines, CAD design, or advanced joinery is a plus.
