Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Oversee and review all aspects of Management Company Accounting across an assigned client portfolio, including Holdings and GP-level entities
- →Review and approve calculation and recording of Revenues and Expenses, ensuring proper allocation methodology is applied
- →Oversee client payables processes and third-party vendor payments, ensuring adequate controls
- →Review cash transaction recording and bank reconciliations prepared by staff
- →Review and finalize client financial statements and supporting workbooks at the Management Company, Holdings, and GP levels before client delivery
- →Serve as the senior liaison with Fund Administration teams, maintaining due to manager records and reporting, and resolving escalated issues
- →Oversee Portfolio Company invoice preparation for reimbursement
- →Lead the annual audit and 1099 processes for assigned clients, serving as primary contact for auditors
- →Own closing calendars and client meeting agendas, holding the team accountable to deadlines
- →Identify and implement process efficiencies and best practices across the client portfolio
- →Support onboarding of new clients and staff training on Management Company Accounting processes
- Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA preferred
- 6-8+ years' experience in accounting, with meaningful exposure to Alternative Asset Management, fund administration, or Big Four
- Prior experience reviewing the work of junior staff and/or direct people management experience
- Strong understanding of the full accounting close cycle, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and T&E
- Proficient in accounting systems; prior experience with Sage Intacct a plus
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple client relationships concurrently, including presenting to and advising senior client stakeholders
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
- Team-first mentality with a track record of developing others
- Desire to build and lead a growing accounting function
