The project manager role will be responsible for delivering the Army Capability Manager's approved IBTN work packages for the Capability Enhancement Strategy (CES) program under the authority and responsibility of the CES program board. Manage, plan and monitor the day to day running of the CES program.
The Project Manager will be accountable under broad direction from the Trunk Systems Sustainment Manager to perform and achieve project management work within an integrated workforce. They are accountable to ensure they have knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence's mission and policy requirements.
The Project Manager will work independently with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of outcomes of their work. They will exercise both initiative and judgement in the interpretation of policy and in the application of practices and procedures. They will provide detailed project management technical, professional and policy advice in relation to complex work and contribute to strategic planning, program and project management and policy development.
The Project Manager will have considerable level of stakeholder engagement and will liaise with stakeholders in relation to complex or difficult issues. They will be required to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders' needs and expectations to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes.

Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Manage a range of project activities and coordinate project inputs in accordance with organisational practices, methods and standards appropriate to the complexity of the project.
- →Responsible for the management of schedule, risk, budget and resources, preparation of briefings, submissions, reports and returns relating to the project progress and issues in accordance with CA31-BCS requirements.
- →Apply established technical, operational, professional and administrative activities, procedures, practices and project management methodologies.
- →Identify risks and opportunities and take account of these in planning, decision making and priority setting.
- →Build and sustain stakeholder engagement including the ability to communicate with influence and negotiate effectively.
- →Work collaboratively by building effective relationships with team members and actively participating in group activities.
- →Analyse project performance against agreed plans and develop and initiate strategies to achieve project outcomes.
- →Resolve issues by identifying and developing ideas through analysis of alternative courses of action and their implications.
- →Provide input into the development of project planning, performance, cost and schedule documents and work breakdown structures in accordance with agreed procedures and performance standards.

CA31 - Battlespace Command System (BCS) is a critical enabler of the Land Combat System (LCS) that connect sensors, decision makers, and effectors in the Land Force by providing Sustainment support.
The CA31 fleet of products encompasses deployable data and voice communication systems used by the three Australian Defence Force (ADF) Services for battlespace command and control. It does not include strategic communication assets, those assets that are specific to maritime and aerospace platforms, or administrative commercial radios.
BCS capabilities include:
- Battlefield Telecommunications Network (BTN). Delivering the deployable wide area network that establishes the backbone of the operational level communications system.
- Tactical Communications Network (TCN), which includes HF/VHF, VHF/UHF and UHF radios and ancillaries to service the requirements of the digitised battlefield.
- Combat Net Radio (CNR). Delivering voice and data communication systems that are optimised for mounted and dismounted, primarily through tactical radio, and range extension systems.
- Have an Australian Government security clearance of at least NV1.
- Ability to work on site for a minimum of 3 days a week
