who we are

At prado, we build invisible home technology for the world’s best architects. What began with a single flagship product in 2021 has grown into an integrated ecosystem of lighting, ventilation, power and security, carried by more than 150 colleagues across Europe, North America and the Middle East. As a growing family of brands, we bring technology and design together to shape the future of living.

Our next chapter is KNX: more and more products, with hardware and software designed together to bring every layer of the home into one logic. As our field application engineer, you join at the start as the bridge between the market and R&D. You introduce our products to installers and integrators through site visits and training, and you are their first call once a product is in their hands. What you learn in the field flows straight back into better products and stronger partnerships. Over time, you become the face of the category, the person partners know, trust and turn to.

This role is for a builder. You are bothered by products that almost work: the unclear parameter, the missing step in a manual, the workaround on site. You want to shape products from the first version onward, own how they perform in the field and build together with the people around you.

what you will do

  • Shape our smart home products from development to launch by testing new KNX solutions, verifying functionality and interoperability, and validating ETS applications in close collaboration with R&D.

  • Translate field experience into product improvements by identifying technical issues, providing concrete feedback and contributing to product design decisions and the roadmap.

  • Introduce our products to installers and integrators through site visits, product demonstrations and industry events, strengthening our presence across Flanders and Brussels.

  • Train installers, integrators and our sales team on KNX technology, our solutions and their application in real-world projects.

  • Act as a technical partner to Sales by providing expert guidance on key projects, offers and installation requirements.

  • Support our partners throughout the installation process by answering technical questions, resolving complex issues and improving installation guides, templates and documentation.

  • Take ownership of recurring technical issues by identifying root causes and working with R&D to resolve them at the source, whether through better documentation, firmware or product improvements.

  • Put every new product launch through a structured test protocol.

  • Trained Belgium’s leading installers and integrators on our KNX solutions.

  • Resolved the ten most frequent support questions at their source.

  • Seen your field insights reflected in our product roadmap.

what we are looking for

  • 3 to 7 years of hands-on KNX experience as an integrator, installer or manufacturer, with a strong understanding of what it takes to make a project work on site.

  • Solid knowledge of ETS, with a KNX Partner certification considered a plus.

  • Practical experience with electrical installations, including hands-on work on real projects.

  • Experience with lighting control and related technologies, such as DALI, Matter, Thread, Crestron or Lutron. Networking or scripting skills are a strong plus.

  • A structured and detail-oriented approach to testing, with the patience to investigate technical issues and identify improvements others might overlook.

  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset, taking ownership of challenges and working to resolve them at their source.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to installers and integrators and translate product capabilities into practical guidance for Sales.

  • An interest in using AI tools to improve efficiency, from drafting documentation based on support tickets to analysing test logs.

  • Fluency in Dutch and English; French is a plus.

  • Flexibility to combine office-based collaboration with regular field visits, spending 1–2 days a week at our offices in Veurne or Ghent and 3–4 days on the road.

what we offer

  • prado is a fast-scaling international company with the ambition to lead its market, where you’ll join at the start of our own smart home product journey.

  • Guided by a family-driven philosophy, you will quickly feel at home thanks to our warm and collaborative work environment.

  • You’ll work closely with R&D, Sales and our partners in the field, helping shape products that reach architect-designed homes across Europe, North America and the Middle East.

  • The role offers a challenging scope of responsibilities, with direct influence on product development and plenty of opportunities to learn and grow.

  • We offer a competitive salary package tailored to your experience and skills, including a company car.
